President Trump to address nation Tuesday night about government shutdown

President Donald Trump is set to address the nation Tuesday evening.

The president’s 9 p.m. address will cover the current partial government shutdown, which has been going on since Dec. 21.  According to Trump’s Twitter account, he will also talk about the “Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border.”

Additionally, on Monday, the White House announced Trump would visit the southern border on Thursday.

The government is currently partially shutdown over funding for President Donald Trump’s promised border wall. Trump is seeking $5 billion for his much-campaigned on wall, while the Democrats, who now control the House of Representatives, do not appear to be budging.
