Arthur Curry, or as he’s better known as, “Aquaman,” is once again at the top of the weekend box office.
The DC superhero flick brought in an additional $31M, as it was able to reign supreme at the box office for a third straight week.
Second place was a bit of a surprise this weekend, with the PG-13 horror film, “Escape Room” bringing in $18M. While it’s not a box office record, the modest haul for a film that cost an estimated $9M to make, is impressive.
Coming in third this weekend was everyone’s favorite magical nanny, “Mary Poppins Returns.” The film, starring Emily Blunt as the iconic and beloved character, brought in just under $16M.
“Aquaman” should continue to thrive at the box office next weekend as a handful of films not likely to do much open next Friday, Jan. 11.
