The 116th Congress got underway on Thursday with newly-elected representatives taking the oath office. Nancy Pelosi was selected at the new Speaker of the House and Republican Kevin McCarthy is now the House Minority Leader. However, all of that was overshadowed by the comments by a freshman congresswoman from Michigan.
Speaking to a group of supporters on Thursday night, Democrat Rashia Tlaib made her and the rest of the Democrats’ intentions abundantly clear.
In recounting a conversation with a son, Tlaib says that “we are going to impeach the motherf**ker.”
This probably isn’t the kind of thing you want to say ever, let alone on your very first day on the job. But hey, I guess we now know what she’s focused on.
