Comedian Tiffany Haddish to PETA: ‘I’ll quit wearing fur when cops quit killing black people’

Animal rights activists are mad at comedian Tiffany Haddish for statements she made on her Instagram account following a show at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. In the video, she says a fan gave her a fur coat and that she’s going to wear “fur every day” until police stop killing black people.

“Hey guys, it’s me, Tiffany Haddish,” she says in the clip.  “I just want to give a shout out and a thank you to one of my fans that were here at the comedy store tonight who gave me this beautiful jacket. Now she wasn’t planning on it but she said she loved me and I was like, ‘If you really love me, let me have your jacket.’ And she did. So thank you so much boo. I’ma wear it as much as possible because, I don’t know if you guys know this about me but I’m ‘bout to start protesting.”

“I’ma wear fur every day until they stop killing black people,” she said. “When the police stop killing black people, I’ll stop wearing fur. It’s my new protest.‘So sorry Peta! Don’t be mad at me! Be mad at the police. When they stop killing black people, I’ll stop wearing fur.”

Needless to say, people were NOT happy about this, calling her “ignorant” in the comments. Another user even said he had a better chance of getting shot by another black person than a cop.

A few people agreed, with one user saying: “Y’all sure are butt hurt over some animals. I think this is genius. Love you Tiff. If I had a fur i’d send it to you (but only to borrow, them bad boys are expensive)!😍😘👊🏾💃🏾”

PETA has not commented on the video.
