Following the post, a number of people reached out SNL star in order to confirm that he was in fact Ok and to pass along uplifting words of support and encourage for someone who appears to be dealing with serious mental health issues.

One of those people was Rep.-elect Dan Crenshaw from Texas.  So what did Crenshaw say to the troubled young man?

“I told him everyone had a purpose in this world. God put you here for a reason. It’s your job to find that purpose. And you should live that way.”

You may remember that Crenshaw and Davidson have a bit of a history together. Davidson got himself in some hot water after he mocked the appearance of the war veteran who lost an eye in Afghanistan.

Crenshaw later appeared on SNL and the two buried the hatchet in a pretty hilarious skit on Weekend Update.
