Chief of Staff John Kelly leaving by end of year

President Donald Trump is getting a new chief of staff, his third.

Trump announced the departure Saturday before heading out for the Army and Navy football game.

“John Kelly will be leaving at the end of the year. We will announce who will be taking John’s place,” said President Trump.

This comes after reports saying things between Trump and Kelly have gotten so bad that they are now longer on speaking terms.

Trump will now be looking for his third chief of staff. His first, Reince Priebus, left the post about six months after taking the job. Kelly replaced him in July 2017.

Reports indicate that Nick Ayers, Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff is being eyed as a possible replacement.

If Ayers gets the position, how long will he last in the job?
