Former President George H.W. Bush was laid to rest Thursday at his presidential library in College Station, Texas, next to Barbara and their three-year-old daughter Robin. Prior to his burial, friends and family remembered and honored the life of HW Bush in Houston, and before that on Wednesday, in Washington D.C.
At the service in D.C., former presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama as well as current President Donald Trump were all in attendance. Everyone is well aware there is some bad blood in that group.
President Trump has said some harsh things about Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. However, all were cordial enough with one another, greeting each other simply because the occasion called for it.
But despite, the event, honoring the life of a former President of The United States, acting human, respecting the office was not enough for CNN’s Don Lemon to act civil.
At the end of his program, Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo went back and forth. Lemon argued that if he were Obama he would’ve refused to shake the hand of President Donald Trump, due to the things Trump has said about Obama.
Cuomo, rightfully, argued that that moment was bigger than either men. He said shaking hands and acknowledging one another was about respecting the office of President of The United States of America and honoring the life of President George H.W. Bush.
Things got a bit heated between the CNN commentators and at one point, Cuomo called Lemon “petty and small.”
