Anyone and everyone is currently being mentioned as a potential Democratic presidential 2020 candidate. One of those names that is commonly thrown around in New York Sen. Kristen Gillibrand.
She, like Beto and Bernie, is a media favorite. I mean she’s a woman and she’s a Democrat, that’s really all the media really needs to be in love with a candidate. However, unfortunately, a recent tweet from Gillibrand has several people upset.
In a tweet sent Wednesday afternoon, Gillibrand essentially reminded everyone that Democrats are still interested in identity politics.
Our future is:
Powered by our belief in one another.
And we’re just getting started.

Yes, nothing says equality like an elected official stating that a group of people should be valued over another simply because of their gender. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that, uh, I don’t know, sexist?
Well, Gillibrand is getting backlash and rightfully so.
so much for equality and freedom for all

I think it's clear who the real sexists are.

I have three daughters. And I think this tweet is misguided and sexist.

What if you’re like a male? Do I not have a future? What if I have a child that I male? Does he not a place in the future?

Good to know that I have no place in your vision of the future future. If there is no place for half the human population in your future you don’t deserve any access to influence the future.

While I applaud and encourage all girls to chase after their dreams, I want to thank my FATHER, a male, who raised me as a single parent and taught me to go after mine. We should never discount anyone.
