If you ever happen to find yourself in Severance, Colorado and you’re tempted to chuck a snowball, don’t worry you won’t be subject to a fine…anymore.
Yes, thanks to 9-year-old Dane Best, who thought it absurd that you legally couldn’t throw a snowball in his town, took up the issue.
The child went before the town council of Severance to speak out against the 100-year-old ban. The century old ban actually, believe it or not, classified snowballs as missiles.

—ILLEGAL SNOWBALL FIGHTS?—
A 9yo Severance boy (shown illegally throwing snowballs with his brother) will go before town council tonight, to argue why a 98yo ban on snowballs should be nullified…just in time for the snowy #Colorado winter ahead.

When making his plea to the town council, Best said “I think it’s an outdated law. I want to be able to throw a snowball without getting in trouble.”
Hard to beat that kind of logic, right?
You’ve got to wonder what in the world would’ve ever moved a town to actually outlaw snowballs, especially a town in a colder climate.
