Despite everything about Facebook and their recent issues with sharing people’s personal information, there are still a good number of people who have Facebook account. Not only do they have accounts, I’m willing to bet that they regularly log on, either on their computer or with their phone.
Also, not to be left out of the mix, Twitter has also been in the news as of late, but for an entirely different reason. They’ve come under fire for banning people, mostly conservatives, for some highly suspicious, even mysterious circumstances. Regardless, people still tweet, they still check out what’s trending and continue to use the social media site.
Whether we’d like to admit it or not, social media plays a major role in the news, entertainment and even the political fields. For whatever reason, people seem to care what celebrities have to say on particular subjects. And on Thursday, it was discovered that the most influential person on Twitter is Taylor Swift.
According to social media analysis company, Brandwatch, Swift garnered the most influence even though she only posted 13 original tweets all year. The company bases their rankings on several metrics, but a big one is user interaction. She scored a 98 out of possible 100, according to the company.
Others who ranked high on the list include: Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Liam Payne and Donald Trump.
