Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just made history by becoming the youngest woman elected to Congress. But seriously, how did this chick get elected?? The dumbest stuff comes out of her mouth and now she’s whining about the cost of living in Washington D.C.
Ocasio-Cortez told The New York Times her transition period will be “very unusual, because I can’t really take a salary. I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment? Those little things are very real.” She said she saved money before leaving her job at the restaurant, and planned accordingly with her partner. “We’re kind of just dealing with the logistics of it day by day, but I’ve really been just kind of squirreling away and then hoping that gets me to January.”
She’s also blaming the electoral system for her plight.
There are many little ways in which our electoral system isn’t even designed (nor prepared) for working-class people to lead.
This is one of them (don’t worry btw – we’re working it out!)

Uhhhh, what does that have to do with ANYTHING??
This literally has nothing to do with the electoral system. https://t.co/Fs1s2rRimo

Supporters were quick to defend her, saying she really meant to say the political system.
She clearly meant political system. Consider her actual point, man.

Others, not so sympathetic.
Ms Ocasio, If you need a place to live in DC while you are a US Congress person, you can find a warm bed in a homeless shelter. After a brief period of Leftist/Democrat corruption, I'm sure you will be well off financially. Service in Congress is a honor not income stream!

Not impressed with your planning and budgeting skills, consisting mainly of hope.

Maybe Ocasio-Cortez should have planned a little bit better before she decided to run for Congress? Everyone knows D.C. is an expensive place to live. Or maybe she was just waiting on a handout…
