Taylor Swift is likely the most popular person on the planet. When it comes to music, everything the young singer-songwriter turns to gold. All of her songs are played on a constant loop on pop radio, eventually making it to No. 1 on the charts.
The woman knows how to make a catchy tune with even catchier lyrics. However, when it comes to politics, she’s not as successful.
Several weeks ago, Swift announced her support of former Tennessee Governor and then-senate candidate Democrat Bill Bredesen. It was her first foray into politics. Really, it was only a matter of time.
Anyway, Swift’s endorsement didn’t seem to help out Bredesen much. Instead, Rep. Marsha Blackburn won election to the U.S. Senate.
The Republican becomes the first woman the Volunteer State has ever sent to the U.S. Senate.
During her victory speech Tuesday night, Blackburn let her feelings known on the Swift endorsement. She opened her speech Tuesday night by saying “Well, I hope Taylor will shake it off.”
