Immediately after Beto lost in Texas, people starting talking about a Presidential run

The Texas Senate race was WAY too close last night and early on, it looked like Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke might pull off an upset. However as the night went on, Cruz pulled away to win a second term in the Senate.

Shortly after O’Rourke conceded, liberals began pushing for a Presidential run in 2020.

This will be interesting to watch because right now, he’s got the Obama effect – incredibly popular even with people outside of Texas, creating a cult like following among Democrats. But the field will be very crowded in 2020 and people have short memories.

This is a lesson for Texas though – things are changing in the Lone Star State and if voters want to keep Texas red, they better come up with a game plan for the future now. John Cornyn’s seat is up in two years and you can bet Democrats will try to take that one down too.
