A Texas political science teacher is in trouble for offering students extra credit if they voted, then adding “We must show up for Beto to paint Texas blue!”
Del Mar College professor being looked into after questionable Facebook post saying “I am offering extra credit for students for voting beginning tomorrow! We must show up for Beto to paint Texas blue!” People like this don’t belong on the state payroll. https://t.co/lz4Dfm9zlh

According to KRIS 6 NEWS, a viewer sent the TV station a screenshot of the professor’s Facebook post.
Claudia Jackson, Del Mar’s executive director of strategic communication and government relations, released a statement stating, “The College is aware of a post made by an employee on a non-College, social media site offering extra class credit for voting in the upcoming election. The message was not posted on behalf of the College. The College has clarified that no extra credit should be offered or granted for voting in any election.”
