Over the past 20-25 years or so, Adam Sandler has been one of the biggest names in the world of comedy and arguably in entertainment in general.
He’s responsible for some truly iconic, quotable films such as Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, The Waterboy, The Wedding Singer and many, many others. He’s also shown that he can handle dramatic material with some really impressive performances in Reign Over Me and Punch Drunk Love.
However, over the last decade or so, he’s produced and starred some just unwatchable material, and this is coming from a huge Sandler fan. What in the world was Jack and Jill? Then he gave us the painfully unfunny That’s My Boy and the Netflix film Ridiculous 6.
Netflix is where the Sandman has resided for the last several years, releasing films on the streaming service instead of theaters. Now, Sandler’s latest Netflix project has him returning to the stage and grabbing the mic, where his career in comedy began, performing standup. Sandler’s Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh lands on Netflix on Oct. 23.
