Pacers’ star Victor Oladipo gets political, gets involved in Indiana Senate race

The race between Democrat Joe Donnelly and Republican Mike Braun is coming down to the wire. Both candidates and campaigns now that race is going to be close and that’s why they are beginning to pull out all of the stops.

On Friday night, Donnelly held a rally in northern Indiana, hoping to rally supporters ahead of the Nov. 6 election. Former Vice President Joe Biden was special guest and his appearance was highly publicized by the campaign. However, one guest who showed up at the rally wasn’t planned and was likely a big surprise.

Indiana Pacers’ star Victor Oladipo showed up at the Joe Donnelly rally in Hammond. The former IU star apparently didn’t talk real long and most of speech wasn’t even political, but he did end it with “vote Donnelly.”

Will the NBA All-Star’s support really change minds or, more importantly, get people out to the polls for Donnelly? Who knows, but for the Donnelly campaign this is a big get.  Oladipo is hugely popular in the state of Indiana and is unquestionably the leader of the Indiana Pacers.
