Chris Evans done as ‘Captain America’

Slap the Marvel logo on any film then just stand back and watch as moviegoers flock to it. Finding a more consistently well performing series of films at both the box office and with critics would be a difficult task. Even the movies featuring the seriously boring, personality challenged Captain America character made bank at the box office.

Well, the people at Marvel will have to find themselves another actor if they decide to go forward with the character because Chris Evans’ time as the worst Avenger is over. Yep, Evans recently tweeted that Thursday was his final time donning the red, white and blue shield.

Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.

Sure, it’s gotta be difficult giving up a something that you’ve played for nearly a decade and likely made you more money than you can imagine, but Marvel isn’t likely to miss a beat.

Avengers 4 comes out next May while Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson opens in theaters in March. Let’s not forget that The Guardians of the Galaxy series of films is just beginning and we should probably expect more Ant-Man films as well.

If fans will keep paying to see superheroes fly around on the big screen saving the world, Marvel will keep producing them. Chris Evans leaving the Marvel World isn’t going to slow Marvel down a bit.
