New poll shows Republican Party favorability highest in seven years

Good news for the GOP – a new Gallup poll shows that favorability for the party is at forty-five percent and the highest it’s been in seven years and up nine points from last September.

Line graph. Forty-five percent of Americans view the Republican Party favorably; 44% say the same of Democrats.

According to Gallup, “the overall increase in the favorable image of the Republican Party is a result of a jump in the positive views of Republicans, including independents who lean toward the party. The percentage of Republicans and leaners with favorable views of their party grew from 67% last September to 85% now.”

Men and middle income households have also seen a jump in favorability for the GOP. (Probably due to those tax cuts)

Not surprisingly, though, Democrats’ views of the GOP haven’t changed.

Going into mid-terms, this new poll could be a good sign that Republican voters will turn out strong for their party.
