Bill Cosby is going to prison. The funnyman was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison Tuesday afternoon for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his Philadelphia home.
The former Cosby star was convicted of three counts of felony indecent assault in April of this year for the 2004 assault of Andrea Constand. Prior to sentencing the 81-year-old Cosby, Judge Steven O’Neill made some comments and he didn’t hold back:
“It was planned predation — the pills, the planning, the penetration without her consent, your own words in your deposition. You claimed her silence was her consent, that is not the law. Your version of consent was rejected by the jury. That underscores how serious this crime is.”
In addition to Cosby’s time in prison, he will also be classified as a “sexually violent predator,” which is a lifetime designation. The former Jello pitchman is also being forced to shell out $25,000 plus the court costs.
