Remakes and reboots are all the rage in Hollywood in right now. Disney hasn’t been immune from this fad, in fact, one could easily say they’ve been one of the leaders. From live-action remakes of Beauty and the Beast, Alice and Wonderland, The Jungle Book, Cinderella and the forthcoming The Lion King and Mulan, Disney has been in on the remake and reboot trend from the very beginning. Before the end of the end, The House of Mouse will release another remake/sequel to a beloved Disney classic, Mary Poppins.
The film titled Mary Poppins Returns stars Emily Blunt as the magical, mystical nanny returning as the children from the original film are grown with children of their own. The film is set to land into theaters on Dec. 19.
In addition to Blunt, the film sports an all-star cast including Colin Firth, Meryl Streep (for which she’ll definitely receive an Oscar nomination), Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emily Mortimer and a few surprise appearances.
