WATCH: Marco Rubio and Alex Jones throw down outside Senate hearing on social media

In addition to the SCOTUS hearing this morning, another important hearing was going on down the hall. Senators were meeting with the heads of Facebook and Twitter to talk about what their companies have done in the past year to “prevent manipulation by foreign actors, after both companies admitted that Russia-backed agents manipulated their platforms to influence the 2016 elections.” (Daily Beast)

Outside that hearing, Florida Senator Marco Rubio was talking with the press when InfoWars creator Alex Jones began heckling him about China and the Democrats. In the video, which was captured on Twitter, Rubio doesn’t seem to know who Jones is and tries to ignore him.

“Is that a heckler?” Rubio asked. “I just don’t know who you are, man.”

An agitated Jones, places his hand on Rubio shoulder, irritating the Senator even more.

“Hey, don’t touch me again, man,” he said. “You’re not going to get arrested,” he added. “I’ll take care of it myself.”

Jones then accused Rubio of trying to beat him up and called him a “gangster thug” and a “little frat boy.”
