In case you hadn’t heard, Roseanne Barr and ABC aren’t real tight anymore. Well, on second thought, make that Ms. Barr and all of Hollywood.
Earlier this summer, Barr compared Obama devotee Valerie Jarrett to “The Planet of the Apes” on Twitter. In a matter of hours after the tweet was sent, ABC announced they were pulling the plug on her highly-rated program, “Roseanne.” Then several weeks after the program’s cancellation, the American Broadcasting Company said they were going to forward with the program sans Barr and instead call it “The Conners.”
Most people are likely curious as to how the program will go on without the central character and whether it will actually survive with Barr. However, don’t count Roseanne as one of those people interested in watching the revamped program. Instead, Barr says she’s going to the Middle East during the show’s fall run.
What will the comedienne be doing in the Middle East? Well, check out her response:
“I have an opportunity to go to Israel for a few months and study with my favorite teachers over there. And that’s where I’m going to go and probably move somewhere there and study with my favorite teachers.”
Love her or hate her that’s getting away from the entire thing is likely a good idea. But still, it will be interesting to see how the show fairs, both in ratings and story, plot wise, without its star.
