Robin Williams was a hugely talented performer who we lost way too early. He may have won a Best Supporting Oscar for his role in “Good Will Hunting,” most people are likely to agree his best flick is as the crossdressing Mrs. Doubtfire. “Patch Adams,” Jack” and even “Good Morning Vietnam” don’t even come close to the sheer comedic genius Williams displayed in “Mrs. Doubtfire.”
Williams, in the film, as a desperate attempt to spend time with his children, dons a wig, makeup, a dress and a female body suit. The film is filled with tons of heart and even more laughter. Williams truly was a master at his craft.
But, like anything, Hollywood just can’t leave things alone. Instead of just letting “Mrs. Doubtfire” be, it’s being turned into a musical and is bound for Broadway.

Little about the planned production is known at this time, but it is said the musical will be based on the beloved 1993 film starring Williams and Sally Field. No cast has been announced.

One thing is for sure, whoever is cast as Mrs. Doubtfire will have some awfully big shoes to fill, even if they are high heels.
