Another celebrity from New York has announced their intention to run for office. However, unlike the last celebrity from the Empire State to run for office, the White House is not in their sights…at least not yet.
Cynthia Nixon, best known for her role as Miranda, on the popular HBO series Sex and the City, is running for governor of New York.
The actress will challenge the current governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, in this year’s Democratic primary.

Nixon certainly puts her Hollywood experience to work in this extremely well made ad. She talks about her children, the growing income disparity between New Yorkers and hits the typical Democratic/progressive hot button issues.
In addition to her ad, Nixon has also launched a campaign website.
While most people won’t have a dog in this fight, this should still be an interesting race to watch.
