Acceptance. Diversity. Open-mindedness. The left enjoys throwing out these touchy-feely buzz words around as much as Planned Parenthood delights in snuffing out the next generation, which is to say a whole lot. But the big one, the word they love, the word of words for the left is “tolerance.”
And really, why would anyone object to such a word? After all, why would there be a problem with a word Merriam – Webster defines as “sympathy or indulgence for beliefs of practices differing from or conflicting with one’s own?” It sounds benign enough, unlikely to cause anyone problems. Besides, “sympathy” and “indulgence” sound like other words the left is likely to fall in love with and regurgitate with annoying regularity, too. Unfortunately, the left is generally anything but tolerant.
Don’t believe me? Fine, but for a group of people who profess to be so open-minded, accepting and tolerant, they sure do label others with rather impressive speed. Xenophobic. Homophobic. Misogynistic. Transphobic. Sexist. And their all-time favorite, racist.
Try and have a debate with a committed lefty, adamantly disagree with them on an issue like immigration, taxing “the rich,” or their fervently held belief in the power of abortion and before you know it, you’ve had one or more of those ugly labels thrown your way. See, by branding themselves as the tolerant crowd they control the debate. After all, no one can disagree with a person who is “tolerant” and if they do, then there is obviously some mental or personality defect present causing the other party to act out in such a distasteful and displeasing manner.
And that brings up another very important point about our tolerant friends on the left who regularly throw out such charged terms as “sexist” and “racist.” They always, always, always attribute motive to a position. “Whoever thinks that way is driven by their extreme hatred of gays.” “Anybody who believes in this must loathe woman.” “They just enjoy seeing old people suffer.” Real, simple, honest debate is not possible with an individual with this line of thinking.
Using such terms and attributing motive to those on the other side of the ideological aisle is intellectually lazy, but the left does it all the time. Take for instance, the recent health care vote in the House. The amount and sheer absurdity of the politically-charged rhetoric coming from those who disagreed with the vote was truly unbelievable.
America: If you assault a woman, you become President; if you are a woman assaulted, you become ineligible for healthcare.🇺🇸

Imagine being so devoid of empathy that you're willing to vote for a bill that makes health care more expensive for women with breast cancer

The #GOP healthcare plan has fully convinced me that they not only have contempt for the poor, but wish to punish them.

Today's health care vote was a reminder of why you don't hand government power over to psychotics.

It’s much easier to call someone a politically-charged name then it is to actually exercise thought and develop a coherent and well-rounded argument for a position.
The left characterizes their opponents using language, that if used against them, would cause them to retreat to their safe spaces and caterwaul about microaggressions. It simply ends the debate. I mean, c’mon what is someone to say when their argument is completely invalidated because they are so obviously a racist or a xenophobe?
But you’ve gotta give credit where credit is due, shutting down debate by calling oneself tolerant, giving oneself the moral high ground in any and all debate is quite impressive. A tolerant lefty wins every debate because of their innate ability to tolerate any and all opposing viewpoints, while remaining completely respectful. Yeah, right.
Let’s be truly honest with ourselves, the only thing liberals won’t tolerate, the one thing that absolutely drives them mad is dissent. And that my friends, will not be tolerated.
